It happened on the 6600 block of Bustleton Avenue in Castor Gardens, the department said.
Police were called to the scene around 6:30 p.m. and found the victim, Kairo Lessa-Neves of Mayfair, with a single gunshot wound to the head, they said. He was pronounced dead at Albert Einstein Medical Center about 15 minutes later, according to investigators.
No weapon was recovered from the scene and no arrests have been made as of Monday, Aug. 7, police added.
Homicide Detectives are investigating.
